It would have been nice if he had decided that before showing up, but that's how things go. It also sounds like he'll get a chance to win the starting job for the MJ team he moved to, and it sounds like he was set to be the third string goalie at CC. If he wants to have a chance to make it in hockey, starting is a lot better than opening the bench door.

Not crazy about having to actually study. But I'd almost place bets his biggest issue was being relegated as 3rd string goalie. If he had been made #1, maybe he would have stuck around... for a while. Best of luck to Stremmel. Maybe his "I can go to school anytime" will work for him and he won't be kicking his own behind for not getting that CC education. School is definitely not for everyone and will ALWAYS be an option, whereas hockey will not always be an option. I didn't start school until recently because for a long time it just was not for me. The Marine Corps did more for me after high school than college would have at that time period because I needed something different. Now I'm in my 30s and back in school, but I'm committed to it now and getting a lot out of it, whereas I would not have before. So I guess I understand where Hudson Stremmel is coming from, at least to a point.
